Mayweather VS Pacquiao: Beyond the Legacy

No more ducking, no more dodging, no more excuses, after more than 7 years in the making, we have ourselves this generation's "Ali VS Frazier."

So where does this fight stand in the ranks of the greatest boxing matches of all-time? That's the $250 million (estimated) question, you can't rank a great fight until it's been fought.

On June 27th, 1988 Mike Tyson fought Leon Spinks in what was expected to be "the fight" of the 1980's, here's how that blockbuster turned out.....

Not exactly "the fight of the century," as a matter of fact, I wouldn't even call that "the fight of the month," but again, we can't predict how Pacquiao and Mayweather will match up, but what we can predict is this WILL be the most hyped boxing match to take place up to this point.

I'm sure you've already seen the tale of the tape for Mayday vs Pac-Man, but here are some statistics you may not be aware of.

At the end of the day, the sport of boxing needed this fight and I commend both fighters for putting aside their personal and contractual differences aside to make this happen, whether this fight lasts one round or goes the distance, whether the favorite (Mayweather) wins or the underdog (Pacquiao) pulls off the upset, the road to this fight will be unlike anything we've ever seen in the sport of boxing or sports period, and deserves the full attention of anyone who has ever performed in any type of competition. -EE
