Tiger Woods Says Prescription Medication was the Cause for DUI Arrest

JUPITER, FL - Once dominant PGA Tour Champion Tiger Woods has had a another unfortunate brush with the law.

Early this morning (Monday, May 29th 2017), Tiger Woods was stopped while driving by Palm Beach County authorities, and after a short investigation, was arrested on suspicion of DUI. 

Only 15 hours later, Woods issued a public statement indicating that alcohol was not involved and that his condition resulted from "an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications."

Here is Tiger Woods official statemtent...."I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions, I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved . What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me strongly.I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too. I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again. I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office for their professionalism."

Tiger Woods has won 14 major tournaments and ranks second with his 79 career victories on the PGA Tour.

His attempts to jump-start his career again being derailed by chronic injuries has been unsuccessful. He has not played for four months and is out for the rest of the season while he recovers from his fourth back surgery. -EE
