Are Sexual Assault Accusations Becoming a Trend?

I'm not dumb enough to think that every celebrity that is currently being tried in the "Court of Public Opinion" for sexual assault or harassment is innocent, I just don't understand why suddenly Fall 2017 has become the season of accusations. Some of the alleged offenders, are facing accusations that go back more than 30 years.

One fault of so many accusations at once, is that the legit accusers of these crimes, will likely face some type of scrutiny for the timing of their accusations, which could make it more difficult to properly deal with situation.

Another major problem with the plethora of assault accusations currently ruling the headlines, is that it is likely that more than a handful of the accusations may not be true, and instead could be the result of a regretful, yet consenting encounter. An encounter that could lead to a monetary settlement, book deal or more for the accuser.

Maybe it's just me, but it really seems like accusing celebrities of sexual assault and harassment is becoming "the thing to do," as opposed to what should already have been done.

If the accused are indeed guilty, I hope justice can be served, and results in the proper punishment for these pieces of shit. -EE
