The Best of 2017

2017 was the best year since 2016. Here are some of the BEST reasons why.

The Last Jedi was a Godsend in a year flooded with shitty movies, and even shittier sequels.

The two hour and thirty-five minute sci-fi drama received a 90% score from Rotten Tomatoes and is expected to be the first Star Wars film to be included in the Best Picture category at this year's Academy Awards.

Despite the negative criticism received from George Lucas and Mark Hamill, I felt "The Last Jedi" put a new spin on the Star Wars story while keeping a very familiar vibe. Great film.

Lil' Uzi Vert's XO Tour Llif3 is not only a fascinating song musically, but it also reminds us not to prejudge things we don't fully understand.

After the initial release of XO Tour Llif3, Lil' Uzi Vert was met with praise, as well as controversy as the marquee lyrics of the song (Push me to the edge/all my friends are dead), were believe to promote violent acts. On the surface, these lyrics seem questionable. But in reality, it's a very poetic tribute to one of Lil' Uzi Vert's most heartbreaking moments of his life.

With a quick explanation of the hook/chorus of XO Tour Llif3, is Emil Elm himself......

The best show of 2017 was HBO's start-up standout, "Silicon Valley."

However, my wife pointed out something I didn't even realize. She said that I don't really watch TV at all. I quickly laughed off the idea and then realized other than televised football, basketball, pro-wrestling and just a handful of television shows, I don't really watch much television. Maybe I'm the wrong person to ask about this, or maybe Silicon Valley is such a good show that someone like me (who hardly watches television), is willing to break their normal routine (of not watching television), and tune into greatness. Maybe.

MARK ZUCKERBERG - To be honest, Zuckerberg wasn't really in the headlines as much as he has been in the past. However, Facebook continues to direct the headlines themselves.

Young and old, rich and poor, 81% of Americans, now have a legitimate Facebook account.

Sure, it's not perfect, but what is?

Zuckerberg himself, is an incredible role model and positive influence to so many people in so many walks of life. He inspires hope and positive thoughts to billions.

Mark Zuckerberg spent 2017 continuing his quest of making the world a better place one "LIKE" button at a time, and for that, he is the Best Person of 2017. -EE
