Dog Receives Notification of Unemployment Status: Approved for $360

SAUGATUCK, MI - Local attorney Michael Haddock was very surprised when he received a letter stating that a member of his household had been approved for umemployment, especially since the name on the envelope was Michael Ryder. Why? Because Ryder, is his best friend, and dog.

Haddock also stated that the employer listed on the letter was a restaurant chain in downtown Detroit.

"I'm not sure what he's going to do with the money," Haddock joked.

The Unemployment Insurance Agency for the State of Michigan's spokesperson Chris Dewitt stated that the phony claim may have been the work of criminals. "it's important to not that no money was paid out. Criminals get a hold of people's personal information like name, address and social security numbers and file a false claim. There have been data breaches that have happened over the last few years that cause a rise in criminals using fake information to file claims.

Ryder however, has remained candid regarding the situation, and says he'll likely just shit outside like he always does, and then pass out by the heater. -EE
